And I usually suck at music games because I do music FOR REALS so pushing buttons or singing straight to match game parameters feels very alien. PS: BON JOVI RULES

Sorry for the long wait. After AyaCon was getting roughs done for a children’s book, then awesome Club Psychocandy, then BICs 2011 ComiCon and the Bank holiday with relatives, grah! *swirly eyes* But yeah, I’m picking this back up! POW! I may be operating this on a once a week basis for a little while, but once this big milestone is over, I’ll get back on track T_T

Sorry guys, it’s MANIC here! There’ve been a couple of projects where the script was delayed and I’ve been expected to catch up regardless, so my workload is crazy right now, on top of getting some cosplays ready for AyaCon this weekend. Back to normal next week…

This is one of the things I knew I had to write about since I first thought of making this comic. OMG, Death Note – L cosplayers… seriously, it’s like playing the violin. Either you’re amazing, or you’re absolutely awful, it’s very difficult to be in the middle. With such a simple cosplay like that, you have to work very hard to become that character, as you’ve got far less to rely on. By the way, you have to be oldskool to recognise Sophie’s cosplay, Fuu from Magic Knights Rayearth ^^

As quoted in Cosplay Fever Red, I’ve said, “If you’ve got it, flaunt it – but for GOD’S SAKE, make sure it fits!”. I’m not a skinny Nazi like Sophie but if you’re on the chubby side, make extra effort to ensure a good fit, modify sexy cosplays appropriately, or try choose characters that are fuller figured. Crossplay and me go very well together because like Yuen, I is a TALL AZN = perfect anime male. But the last word in this strip is something that DOES make me LOL. I saw a photo of a girl who wanted to show off her latest lolita dress. Didn’t do her hair, make-up or even turn on the light, she just wore her dress, put a plastic chair(?) on top of her unmade bed (?!) and sat on the chair with no shoes on and took a photo. There’s dealing with the difficulty of using a self-timer on a camera and finding a place to put the damn thing, and just… failing. There are far worst horror stories though, I’m sure you’ll agree.

OHOHOHO!!! Cosplay, it begins XD Yes, I thought Sophie would best suit Misa from Deathnote. I wonder which cosplays she will force onto the other girls… :3 But yes, this is a pet peeve of mine and many level-headed cool cosplay peeps in the UK. Some people take it FAAAAR too seriously. I mean, yeah, when entering for competition, be serious, but for photos, groups and skits, it’s supposed to be FUN. I have soooo much drama to parody at some point, it’s just figuring out which subject to tackle, one at a time XD

Keziah’s dress is based off a BABY,THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT jumperskirt that I have. But she looks extremely uncomfortable wearing it XD Cosplay to be tackled next…
